Fuck cheat days

Seriosuly fuck cheat days, fuck cheat meals as well. I used to absolutly swear by cheat days, I would do one every week and I would recommend it to all my friends and people I worked with. Ow how I was wrong.


I was that guy who rocked upto lunch with his plain brown rice, veg and grilled chicken (you know about the George Foreman grill). Breakfast I would have oats made in water, that shit is just nasty. Anybody who tells you they like oats made with boiling water and nothing else is a liar or has no taste buds. Then dinner was something "clean and healthy". Then typically Sunday would come around the corner. OMG it was amazing from the time I woke up to the time I went to sleep I was eating everuthing I could. If you have seen my Insta oage you will know I have a sweet tooth, now imagine a full day of fuck it no rules, lets go fucking crazy. Pancakes for breakfast, with nutella and maple syrup, afternoon tea for lunch, pizza for dinner and random snacks throughout the day. It was the stuff dreams are made of, basically I stopped eating when my stomach hurt to much. I dread to think of how many calories I actually consumed.


Then weigh day would come around becasue back then I also only cared about what the scales read. Surprise, my weight hadnt changed. Shock horror! But why? I was so strict on my diet this week, I hit all my gym sessions, had my plain rice and chicken, what's gone wrong? I know I will decrease my daily calorie allowance and increase my cardio that will do it. So repeat cycle above ow what do you know, still no change on the scales. Ah, I know I must be putting muscle on, it will show up soon when some more of the fat melts off.


I was so uneducated back then. I look back and just kind of makes my cridge at some of the things I would do to try and get fit. Most importly tho I never really sorted out my eating, I just lived for cheat day really. I did oncd start calulating my calorie intake for a cheat day but stopped when I got to 3k. Still had pizza after that. So the deficit I had spent the week creating I had now over consumed on basically eaten enough to be at maintence or surplus. Why? becasue I had no idea what I was doing and had listened to a bunch of shit about cheat day helping you boost your metabolism by random arseholes at the gym and some super buff people online.


Firstly if this sounds at all familiar to youI feel your pain. We need to stop villanising foods. There is no such thing as good or bad foods, just over consumption of certain things. Realistaiclly it falls down to two things.


  1. weight loss - calorie deficit

  2. Weight gain - calorie surplus

Now, don't get me wrong this is a very basic level of nutrion I am talking about here but ultimatly that is what it boils down to. If you want to be in a calorie deficit but eating Mc Donalds all day thats fine. What you will fine is the food is not that nutrriontally dense so you will be lacking in certain mirconutrients and also you will not nessiarily be full eating your daily alloawnace of food at Mc Donalds apposed to wholemeal pasta and sauce. But you would still be in a deficit and that is what you are trying to achieve.


Once you know your target calorie allowance (I can help with this) you need to find a way that suits you best in getting those calories (I can also help with this). But dont villanise food, you can have your cake and eat it to (literally).
