So, training has been going well, weight was where I expected it to be, and I was shaping up nicely.
I have been nursing an injury now for the last 2 years. I was training on my road bike when somebody kindly swerved their car into me. I am not looking to turn this into a cycling argument blog lol, so don't get started. I was cycling in the cycle lane didn’t jump any lights or anything before you accuse me, the guy just didn't see me, and I landed straight on my knee. Instant pain and to top it off, driver didn't stop. Life goes on, frustrating but I lived so could be worse.
Anyway, fast forward 2 years and I am still injured but doing my best to get on with it. I have days I can't walk much at all and other days where there is still pain but manageable. However, recently the pain has been getting much worse and I really struggle to do any training. Normally I can deal with this.
Unfortunately, this time because things have dragged on, the pain has got bad, and training has been pretty much 0 now for a while due to this I hit a low. Like I am sure some of you will know it is hard to eat your normal healthy balanced diet when you are just kind of milling around. I hit a food binge HARD. I was having a few days at 5000 kcal; I was just binge eating to deal with my frustration and this went on for just over a week.
Now, I know better and shouldn't have let this happen to myself. I know that binge eating will in the long term just make me feel shit and worse than before I started. But I did it anyway.
What now? Now I get back on the wagon, I am not going to under eat massively and cut my kcal in half to try and make up for the binge eating. I am going to go back to my normal intake, eat my regular food and carry on as usual.
A minute on the lips a lifetime on the hips. Said by an absolute prick.
Something I want to help everyone understand, if you have a bad day, bad weekend, or even bad week you have not ruined your diet and don't need to make any massive changes to get yourself back on track. Just relax and carry on with your normal intakes and get back into routine. You will quickly get yourself back on track and it would be as if you never "fucked up".
